Straight Through

Kim Valves offer a wide variety of premium quality Straight Through type diaphragm valves. The body materials and linings suit application from lime dosing to slurry handling where abrasion is a problem. Kim Valves 'ST' valve body construction offers many end connections to suit various international standards. Available in BSP / NPT thread DN8 - DN50 and flanged to suit ANSI 125 / 150, BSTD/E and other drilling patterns on request. Face to face standard dimension is offered as per BS5156 but also available in DIN & MSS as an option. Straight through diaphragm valves are recommended when dense fluids or slurries are present in the service, if the percentage of solids is greater than 10-15% it is generally preferable to use a straight through valve. This is dependent however, on the particle size profile, shape and all other process conditions – check with your local Kim distributor for specific information. Use when minimal pressure drop is required. "Rodding" or "pigging" the line is necessary. Diaphragm and bonnet design ensure that diaphragm is removed from flow path in the open position.
Straight Through body construction is generally used on line media which is either abrasive and / or has a high viscosity and solid content. Use an 'ST' type valve when the line media reaches 10% solids or greater.
